This weeks Wedding Advice Wednesday: Brooch Bouquets
Brooch Bouquets are becoming an increasingly popular wedding trend, and it is easy to see why! The MIX or crystals, brooches, rhinestones and flowers is WEDDING BLING at it's best! Brooch bouquets are amazing for so many reasons. Besides being super sparkly, they make meaningful keepsakes after the wedding, and you can use vintage jewelry from family members and carry a bit of them with you down the aisle.

Q- I am really loving the new "Brooch Bouquet" trend, but have no idea of where to get started. The idea of making my own is a bit overwhelming, but the ones online are a bit out of my price range?? Do you have any suggestions for helping me make this dream... an affordable reality??

~Dazed and Confused~ Stacey

A- Stacy, I TOO am in Love with this budding trend. The idea of having a bouquet made of crystals and bobbles and rhinestones... whats NOT to LOVE?? I have a few suggestions on how to get you to your end goal, and still stay on budget.

If you like the idea of collecting the brooches and making your own bouquet, check out this easy to follow DIY: Tutorial that we recently came across on FANCY PANTS Weddings, a super fun wedding blog. It includes easy to follow, step-by-step instructions and detailed pictures.

If that still seems a bit overwhelming, I would suggest talking with your local florist. Many floral designers are embracing this trend and offering a mixed floral and brooch bouquet option for their clients. This can be beautiful and a bit more affordable than a bouquet made strictly of brooches.

Local Floral Studio BLOOMERS, has recently featured several of these mixed bouquets, and brides are LOVING them! Below is a photo of a bouquet that they made for a the Ultimate Wedding Showcase in Jaunary 2011. It was a beautiful mix of roses, ranunculus, paper-whites and a variety of beautiful goodies!

Last but certainly not least, is part DIY and part ask a professional. You may not be "crafty" but i am certain that if you ask your family, relatives, friends even members of your bridal party, I am sure that someone you know would be up for the task. That way you can take on the job of collecting the brooches, jewelry, buttons, large earrings etc. that YOU like and then turn over the "goods" to your willing counterpart.
Which ever way you decide, do a little homework first. Websites like ETSY, have a variety of artisans offering Brooch Bouquets at a variety of prices, but it can also be a good source for finding one of a kind pieces for your bouquet. We suggest collecting jewels from family members, craft stores, thrift stores, ebay, estate sales, and even craft stores and costume jewelry chains, (places like forever21, claires and icings sometimes have great sales on last seasons items) and once they are all mixed together you can place the more significant pieces as focal pieces and fill in underneath with the simpler costume-pieces.

I hope this has helped answer your question! We would love to see what you come-up with, and if you find other good sources of ideas or supplies, let us know and we will add it to our BLOG. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to email us again!
Sincerely,
Laura and the Forevermore Events Team

Exquisite Vintage Revival Wedding Dresses!

From polished hair and dramatic make-up to demure color pallets and nostalgic accents... VINTAGE Wedding trends are popping up all over Wedding Blogs and Inspiration Boards.
Vintage trends are especially showing up on runways throughout the fashion industry! AND as we all know, when it comes to weddings after the RING...what comes next is the DRESS!

WEDDING INSPIRASI, (a Bridal Fashion Blog, that is known for featuring the best-of-the-best in the Wedding Fashion Industry,) recently opened our eyes to several new lines of exquisite wedding dresses.  The collection we are featuring today comes from Yolan Cris an outstanding dress designer from Barcelona. His 2011 dress line is lovingly titled REVIVAL VINTAGE.

~There was a precious time in which, even in black and white, was innate elegance. An era that managed to coin a timeless style, where the genius of mind and demeanor were really important, The Roaring 20's~
Quote from the Yolan Cris Website:

Crystals, feathers, lace and fringe this line is brimming with inspired accents on heavily beaded vintage Chantilly lace, and don't forget the beautiful flapper style accessories to match. Even if a "Designer Dress" is not what you are looking for, ANY Bride looking at having a roaring 20s themed wedding will be inspired by this collection!

Wedding Advice Wednesday: Invitations

This weeks Wedding Advice Wednesday: Invitations

We are so excited about the responses we have received from our readers, and are featuring not ONE but TWO Q & A's this week. Invitations are a tricky subject, and when it comes to wedding announcements and invitations these days.... anything goes! Formal, Informal, Interactive, Photos, Collages, Drawings.... you name it! The creativity styles and new trends that have popped up in the Invitation Industry over the last 5 years has been astounding! I LOVE IT! It's another way that the Bride and Groom to be can inject a bit of their style and personality to their event.

Q- I have heard several different opinions on when I need to send out our wedding invitations. How far in advance should I send out our wedding invitations? Also what is the proper amount of time to ask for the reply card by?

~Thank you~ Marie
Southern Utah, UTAH

A- Marie, Thank you for contacting us with your question. Invitation etiquette often comes up when I meet with clients, so know that you are not alone in the "stationary haze"

Ideally, invitations should go out six weeks before the wedding -- that gives guests plenty of time to clear their schedules for the day and make travel arrangements if they are out-of-towners. It also lets you make the RSVP date a little earlier -- say three weeks before the wedding date -- especially if you have decided to make a formal seating chart. Your wedding planner of graphic designer will need time to make name tags or seating charts and will need the information before the "final-week-before-the-wedding crunch" begins. So at the very latest, I suggest that the guests should receive wedding invitations six weeks in advance, and you should get responses back two to three weeks before the big day.
I hope that answers your question!
Best of Luck~

Q- HELP! I am not sure what to do? My fiancée and I can't decide between sending out "wedding announcements" or "wedding invitations" or both. I grew up here, but The Groom grew up in a VERY small town back east. We're afraid that feelings will be hurt if we don't invite everyone from his hometown, but we know the trip will be impossible for probably 95% percent of them. I hate to spend part of our budget making separate announcements, but I don't want anyone to feel left out. What should we do?
~A Tale of TWO Cities~ Tina
St George, UTAH

A- Tina, May I first say that when I saw your email :
"RE: A Tale of TWO Cities" I made me smile. What a perfect way to title a common issue. Southern Utah is a beautiful place to live and grow up, but because of its location, and bustling college-town atmosphere, we have a lot of clients that come from different hometowns. I am not sure if Martha Stewart or Emily Post would agree with me, but MY suggestions is to stick with sending out ONE invitation to both sides of the family. His hometown friends and family are just as important, and will be tickled to receive a proper invitation to your BIG day. You and your fiancée may be pleasantly surprised to see how many guests decide to use it as the perfect reason to take the weekend off and schedule a mini vacation to our beautiful little town. Even if 95% aren't able to make it, they will feel loved and included, (and may even show their support by sending gifts or registry items! Hooray!)

Your wedding budget is important, and I am sure that having any number unexpected guests show up could derail your plans, so make sure to include an RSVP request on the invitations. That way you will have a good idea of how many to plan for. Also, as a side note, I know several invitation companies, will offer you a price break once you order OVER a certain number of invitations.
Example: After 400 invitations are ordered the price per invitation goes down 20% across the board- which could be a huge savings!
If you were to split them up and order 200 Invitations and 200 Announcements, you would be losing those available discounts.
I sincerely hope that we have answered your question, and would be happy to suggest several local invitation companies that do amazing work!!
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to email us again!

Sincerely,
Laura and the Forevermore Events Team

Monday Inspiration: Garden Wedding on a Budget

The Decor: Gardens are so romantic; they are the perfect location for a wedding. Gardens also make decorating really easy and less expensive because they are already so beautiful with all their flowers and greenery. Add a simple arch to tie in the wedding atmosphere!

The Food: You’ll save money on food by hosting an afternoon teaparty, rather than a full dinner meal. Serve cucumber sandwiches, quiches, fruit, and other classic tea party food. Fill pretty bowls with berries and set a bowl at every table.

The Dessert: Every good tea party has a plethora of pastries and sweet desserts. Petit fours, mini tarts, and french macaroons are great choices that not only taste good but look beautiful, not to mention a decadent cake, beautifully decorated and topped with a vintage crown.

The Fashion: To get your dream dress on a budget, shop at sites like PreOwned Wedding Dresses or Once Wed, where you can find dresses that have been worn just once at incredible savings. A big white sunhat would fit in with a teaparty theme perfectly–and would cost a lot less than a veil. The bride’s look would be complete with elegant lace gloves and shoes with rose details. For the bride’s bouquet, choose garden roses instead of peonies–they look very similar but cost so much less.

The bridesmaids could carry parasols or lace fans instead of bouquets. Let your bridesmaids choose their own dress to save stress and money. Each girl will look and feel good in a dress that complements her own body (just make sure that the colors, lengths, and styles look cohesive). Skip the tux rentals and put the groom and groomsmen in white shirts, suspenders, and khakis. Let them wear ties they already own, and they’ll save money too!

The Details: For the centerpieces, use teapots as vases and fill them with flowers.  Set the table with pretty mismatched china that you collect from thrift stores during your engagement. Using a gold pen, write the guest’s names on teacups that double as both placecards and personalized favors. On the guest table, decorate a gold birdcage with moss and flowers for a pretty cardbox. Use paper doilies to make envelopes for the invitations, petal cones, cupcake liners, and more–they’re so pretty and super inexpensive!

The Invitations: Love & Lavender designed a beautiful lace invitation suite to capture the personality of this garden wedding.
It is available to download for free here.
